How often should a mechanical watch be serviced?
As a rule of thumb, every four to five years. The oils inside the movement degrade over time whether the watch is worn or not, and running a movement on degraded oil wears the components. If your watch has gone much longer, a service is worthwhile even if it seems to run fine.
What does a full watch service include?
The movement is removed from the case and completely stripped down. Every component is cleaned, inspected for wear, and the movement is reassembled with the correct fresh oils. It's then regulated on timing equipment, the case is cleaned and resealed with new gaskets where needed, and the watch is tested before return.
How much does a watch service cost?

How long does a watch service take?
A proper service can't be rushed — the movement must be stripped, cleaned, oiled, reassembled, and then observed over time to confirm the regulation. We'll give you a realistic timescale with your estimate.
My watch is running fast/slow — does it need a full service?
Not always. Sometimes regulation or a smaller intervention is enough, particularly if the watch was serviced fairly recently. We'll diagnose it honestly and only recommend a full service if your watch actually needs one.
Do quartz watches need servicing?
Less often than mechanical watches, but yes — quartz movements have gear trains and lubrication too. If a quartz watch drains batteries quickly or the hands stutter, it may need a clean and service rather than yet another battery.
Will my watch stay water resistant after a service?
